Bruce Stidworthy, PE, LEED® AP
Bruce Stidworthy is President and a managing partner of Bohannan Huston, Inc. He is a graduate of New Mexico State University with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a master’s degree from the University of New Mexico Anderson School of Management. He has been with BHI for over 22 years and has served as a leader in the Community Development and Planning Group, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors. Bruce has been involved with a variety of community and professional organizations, including serving on the Albuquerque Economic Development Board of Directors and as the Chairman of the New Mexico District Council of the Urban Land Institute. He is also a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Accredited Professional and has provided design services for numerous LEED certified projects around New Mexico.
Chief Operations Officer
Leslie L. Small
Leslie Small serves as BHI’s Chief Operations Officer, responsible for the firm’s daily operations and overall project performance.
Leslie Small formerly served as Senior Vice President of the Advanced Technology group. Throughout her career, Ms. Small has led BHI efforts in researching and developing new areas of technology applications for BHI and our clientele. Through her many years of working with the engineering, surveying, mapping and technical staff at BHI, she has developed a unique ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions to enable the firm to work effectively and efficiently.

Louis Hernandez
As Chief Financial Officer, Louis Hernandez oversees all administrative and accounting functions of BHI, including the firm’s project accounting and financial reporting systems. With diverse experience not only within the field of Information Technology, but general business management, facilities management, and human resource management, he is uniquely capable of applying technology across all aspects of a business.

Kurt D. Thorson, PE
Traffic and Transportation
As a Senior Vice President and Senior Project Manager for BHI’s Traffic & Transportation group, Kurt Thorson manages BHI’s transportation design projects and staff throughout development and production. He is also responsible for all coordination with survey, mapping, drainage, and structural design tasks associated with transportation projects, working closely with clients to ensure that their project objectives are met. Mr. Thorson also provides quality reviews of projects during development and prior to final submittal to the client.

Craig W. Hoover, PE
Water Resources
Craig Hoover is a Senior Vice President and the Manager of the Water Resources group at BHI. In addition to client support, business development, and project management, Mr. Hoover is a recognized leader in the Water Resources community. His wide ranging technical expertise includes planning and design of civil engineering projects in the areas of flood control, storm drainage, stormwater quality, water systems, sanitary sewers, subdivisions, highway improvement, and street rehabilitation.

Robert S. Dzur, ASQ-CMQOE
Spatial Data
Rob Dzur has over 20 years’ experience working in the development of geospatial data projects. Since 2004, he has served as systems manager at BHI leading stereo photogrammetric GIS feature data, orthophotography, and elevation mapping projects. Systems and processes are the fundamental threads in Mr. Dzur’s approach to his work and in his role as manager. In this capacity, he has led development and implementation of BHI’s GIS-based project management strategies. He uniquely bridges the geospatial profession with quality systems and quality principles. Mr. Dzur is a Certified Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence, with a strong influence on BHI’s geospatial production processes.

Dennis Sandin, RPP
Spatial Data
Dennis Sandin’s extensive experience includes facilitating and managing primary and ancillary data acquisition, film-based imagery in black and white, natural color and near infrared imagery, data manipulation and processing, digital analytical aerial triangulation, standards development, and data conversion. Mr. Sandin serves as project manager on large mapping projects or those requiring great technical expertise and design. He is an expert in Geographical Information Systems (GIS), digital mapping, digital orthophotography, photogrammetry, and engineering mapping.

Matthew Thompson, PE
Las Cruces Office
Matthew Thompson, the managing principal at BHI in our Las Cruces office, is primarily responsible for project management, client coordination, staff resource allocations to projects, and overall quality assurance. He also acts as BHI’s lead engineer for all project work related to process, mechanical and electrical aspects of municipal water and wastewater facilities. With more than two decades of engineering experience, Mr. Thompson has a unique background that merges both mechanical and electrical engineering skills for small to large projects, involving water, gas and sewer utility infrastructure as well as site facility buildings.

Todd Burt, PE
Water Systems
Todd Burt is a Senior Vice President and Managing Principal of BHI’s Water Systems group. Mr. Burt has extensive experience in civil engineering with specific emphasis on water systems, pipeline design, and public works projects. As group manager, his duties include managing Water System design projects and staff for environmental and civil engineering projects throughout the Southwest. Mr. Burt has provided project and design management for multi-million dollar projects including design-build projects with aggressive schedules to meet client needs and deadlines.

Sean Melville, PE
Structural Engineering
Sean Melville is a Senior Vice President and Managing Principal of BHI’s Structural Engineering Group. During his 20 year career at BHI, Mr. Melville has specialized in structural projects from bridges to buildings and other types of civil infrastructure projects. Mr. Melville is responsible for project development and workflow from contract preparation through project close-out. His management duties include scope of work and fee preparation, supervision and training of design team members, structural studies and design, design reviews, and client coordination.

Jeff Mulbery, PE, LEED AP BD+C
Community Development and Planning
Jeff Mulbery is a Senior Vice President, project manager, and senior engineer in the Community Development & Planning group. He manages civil and site design of site development projects around the state and region, ranging from educational facilities to office and manufacturing facilities, institutional projects, retail centers, and parks. He is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional and is experienced with green building practices and design services for LEED-registered and certified projects.

Denise Aten, AICP
Planning
Denise Aten manages BHI’s Denver office and the Planning group. Denise brings over twenty-eight years of experience in implementing infrastructure projects for local, state, and federal agencies in Colorado and New Mexico. Her experience as the firm’s Senior Planner complements the transportation, land use, and site development services that BHI offers and continues to help BHI Denver grow. Denise is an AICP Certified Planner and holds a master’s degree in Environmental Planning.

Alan Benham, PE, PS
Survey
Alan Benham manages BHI’s Survey group and supervises business operations for the department. With over two decades of experience, Alan holds dual licenses as a professional surveyor and a professional engineer. He brings a unique perspective to projects from both surveying and engineering aspects. As a licensed surveyor in seven states, he is BHI’s expert in boundary law and is a member of the first national group who earned their Certified Federal Surveyor (CFedS) certificate from the Bureau of Land Management.

Surface Water
Alandren is experienced in leading various water resources projects for both the public and private sectors in New Mexico, Colorado, and Texas. As a leader of Bohannan Huston’s GIS initiative and GIS applications in engineering, she excels at finding creative solutions to water resources challenges. She has led water resources analysis, planning, and design projects and is an accomplished team leader who guides projects and leads the team to achieve successful outcomes. Alandren has been with BHI since 2007.

EnvisionIT Solutions
Kevin Gray is the new Managing Partner for EnvisionIT Solutions (EITS), a division of BHI’s Advanced Technologies team. Kevin is also an Author and Conference Speaker on all things related to IT. As part of the EITS leadership team, Kevin works closely with clients to understand their unique IT needs. Kevin has been with BHI since 2002 and has helped grow the EITS division since 2007.

Mike Balaskovits

Mike has experience in leading design teams in both private and public development projects. Commercial and master-planned communities have been a primary focus in his career, including experience with infill projects, mixed use, and retail and residential components. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and is experienced with green building practices and design services for LEED registered and/or certified projects. Mike has been with BHI since 2003.

Jared Lee, PE, LEED AP
Engineering Denver
Jared manages our Colorado Engineering group from BHI’s Denver office. His expertise includes leading design teams in all civil engineering aspects of various design and development projects, including private and public infrastructure projects. He has experience in leading transportation, drainage, and utility design projects; residential and commercial developments; subdivision planning; and award-winning civil site development projects while still maintaining an active role in the design process. As a LEED Accredited Professional, he has experience with green building practices and design services for several LEED registered and/or certified projects. Jared has been with BHI since 2003.

Albert M. Thomas, PE
Traffic and Transportation
Bert Thomas is a Vice President and a leader in BHI’s Traffic & Transportation group. His duties include contract administration as well as project management and engineering design on transportation-related projects. He has extensive experience in civil engineering and focuses his efforts in transportation planning, highway design, and traffic engineering. Prior to managing the Traffic & Transportation group, Mr. Thomas served as a design engineer for civil site design, utility, and drainage projects.

Juan Samaniego, PE
Construction Engineering
As Project Manager and Senior Vice President of BHI’s Construction Engineering Group, Juan Samaniego coordinates the administration and technical aspects of construction engineering projects. He deals with all aspects of a project and acts as the owner’s representative during the construction phase. He is responsible for supervising and coordinating an inspection staff composed of project managers, field engineers, construction inspectors, and testing laboratory personnel.
