Union Avenue and Main Street Master Plan
Owner: City of Pueblo
Location: Pueblo, Colorado

The City of Pueblo partnered with Bohannan Huston to develop a comprehensive set of creative solutions for Union Avenue and Main Street in downtown Pueblo, Colorado. This unique project required consideration for the individual contexts of each corridor while taking the opportunity to create a unified approach between the corridors to transform this area of downtown Pueblo.
Recently awarded a CDOT infrastructure grant for the Revitalizing Main Streets program, this project will implement the intent of the Master Plan – a strong community-developed vision for Union Avenue and Main Street, which are separate but integrated downtown corridors. The BHI team created and implemented a diverse set of engagement methods and conducted various public outreach activities to collaboratively and actively engage residents, businesses, and property owners along the two corridors and within the surrounding areas. Parking, bicycle facilities, landscaping, streetscape, and more are all being considered as ideas and alternatives are developed, all while aligning with the vision, goals, and design standards established by numerous previous planning activities with the residents of Pueblo.
