Summary
This new 70-acre, 2,000-student high school campus in Las Cruces includes seven new buildings and 25 acres of athletic fields. BHI’s survey and engineering team supported the architectural lead and resolved unique challenges at the site. The team’s innovative approach to grading, for example, used the natural topography to the campus’s advantage, maximizing views of the nearby Organ Mountains while minimizing the need for extensive on-site retaining walls. Additionally, on-site facilities accommodate all of the storm drainage needs, and numerous water harvesting features are integrated with the landscape.
