Summary
The BHI team worked together to meet and exceed all project demands (notably including a compressed design and construction schedule and critical open space requirements), designing and constructing a drop structure that fit into the arroyo confined area and also tied into the existing arroyo topography and surroundings. This not only provided bank protection and prevented arroyo flanking, flooding, and erosion, it also complemented the natural surroundings of the Calabacillas Arroyo in support of the City of Albuquerque’s Open Space area.
