BHI Helps Judge Central NM Science & Engineering Research Challenge
On behalf of NAIOP, BHI representatives Josh Lutz and Erica Newman helped judge the 58th Central NM Science & Engineering Research Challenge (SERC) on March 23. The challenge was themed, Award the Best…Encourage the Rest, and included presentations focused on science, technology, engineering, math and health sciences projects. BHI contributed towards two special awards for Senior (grades 9-12) and Junior (grades 6-8) division projects.
Hosted by the UNM STEM H Center, the SERC projects were judged on research questions and problems, design and methodology, data collection, construction and testing, creativity, presentation display, and presentation oral interview. The SERC has helped students and teachers with scientific research/engineering projects. Students who were selected as top winners at this regional science fair will continue on to the State Science Fair with their projects.
Congratulations to the winners and thank you to Josh and Erica for representing BHI, supporting STEM education programs, and being a role model for the science and engineering field.
