East Amole Surge Pond
Award-Winning Project (2011)

Bohannan Huston led several client projects that culminated in the final East Amole Surge Pond project. We developed the pond inlet/outlet box with the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) long before the design of a surge pond was developed for the Albuquerque Metropolitan Arroyo Flood Control Authority (AMAFCA). As such, we had a unique understanding of the project that allowed us to create solutions to meet the needs of all the stakeholders. We provided planning, engineering, consulting, and construction management services for the Amole Surge Pond Project.
This project required extensive involvement of the client, and the multiple agencies involved in the cost sharing agreements. Because of that successful collaboration, this project received the Public Partnership Award from the Mid-Region Council of Governments Board of Directors Annual Regional Excellence Awards in 2011.
